Winnie "rescued" her humans in 2019, walking into an adoption event and immediately winning their hearts. Self-described as "friendly, but nervous," she cultivates smiles, chuckles, and memories wherever she goes. She is certified as a U.S. National Park Bark Ranger, proficient in sniffing and running joyously in God's creation. Her greatest gift is her ability to keep humans' perspective in check: life is about naps, treats, and adventures!
Young Adults in Global Mission (YAGM) and Bratislava International Church are part the ELCA Global Mission program in Central Europe. The ELCA's approach to mission is unique; rather than "bringing" Jesus to others, missionaries practice accompaniment with its companion churches, co-equal with and learning from each other. Accompaniment can be summarized as "walking together in solidarity, mutuality, and interdependence in a way that draws us closer to God and each other."
